Winter
In the winter the landscape is covered with the snow and it causes bluish gray period of darkness moments. Balance to the white ground the sky is dark except the stars and the northern lights. Most of the winter activities are associated with the snow, do downhill skiing or cross country skiing, drive a snowmobile or go for a eventful husky safari!
Artic speed trials
Do you wish to try driving along an icy track and practice driving in Arctic donditions? The local motor sports centre has a 1,3 km track where this will be possible in a completely safe environment. |
Snowmobiling
Snowmobiles are possible to rent for adults as well as for children. We arrange snowmobiling-safaris based on the wishes of our customers. In addition we also arrnge the eating, snacks and accommodation. |
Downhill skiing
Iso-Syöte offers 15 well maintained slopes and they range from gentle slopes for beginners for professional skiers. There is also a snowtube slope and a Snow world Lumimaa for children. |
Husky Safaries
A sleigh ride pulled by the lovable huskies offers thrills of speed, beautiful winter scenery and unforgettable memories. Visit a local husky camp and find out how to ride a husky sleigh yourselves before enjoying a 10km safari through the snowy landscape. |
Cross-country skiing
The possibilities for cross-country skiing in Syöte are excellent. The total length of cross-country ski trails is about 120 km and terrains are varied. |
Visit Local Reindeer Camp
This 2-3 hour excursion starts with a comfortable car transfer to the local reindeer camp, where you will get to meet the gentle semi-wild reindeer, enjoy hot drinks, find out about reindeer husbandry in the camp and finally have an opportunity for a reindeer sleigh ride in the camp surrounds. |
